About the foundation

A recovery model built on dignity, connection, and practical support.

Built 4 This exists to support individuals in early recovery by providing practical tools, connection, and hope during one of the most vulnerable transitions in their lives.

The problem

Millions face isolation, life transitions, recovery challenges, and behavioral health struggles without meaningful community support.

Clinical therapy can be effective, but expensive and difficult to access.

Traditional support groups can be accessible, but often rigid and limited in dialogue.

Built 4 This bridges the gap.

Mission + vision

Healing is not about fixing what is broken.

Healing happens in community. Built 4 This exists to create connection, belonging, and support for individuals in recovery and those rebuilding their lives.

Sustainable recovery is not built through isolation, shame, or willpower alone. It is built through meaningful relationships, shared purpose, accountability, and community.

Recovery Bridge Program

Helping people stabilize during the first 30 days.

The greatest danger in recovery is often what happens immediately after leaving treatment. Built 4 This helps bridge that gap through practical assistance, community sponsorships, donor support, and strategic partnerships.

A sponsorship can help cover weekly transitional housing support, grocery and basic living support, transportation assistance, and a one-time work/interview clothing voucher. Resources are delivered through support services and community partners rather than direct cash payments.

Long-term vision

A broader recovery-support ecosystem.

Built 4 This aims to grow beyond immediate support into a scalable ecosystem for practical resources, mentorship, stabilization, vocational assistance, life-skills development, and recovery-focused services.

Founder story

This work is personal.

I’m Adam Goldman, founder of Built 4 This Foundation, and this work is personal. I've been through treatment. I've experienced the hope that comes with discharge -- and the vulnerability that follows shortly after. I know first hand how quickly confidence can give way to uncertainty once structure disappears.

The phrase “Built 4 This” became a mantra for me during recovery. Not as a hype, but as a reminder that resilience isn't something you earn later -- it's something you already have, even when you can't feel it yet.

Transparency & stewardship

Donations are treated as trust.

Built 4 This is committed to responsible stewardship, transparency, and mission-focused allocation of charitable contributions.

Fiscal sponsorship & compliance

Built 4 This currently operates as a fiscally sponsored initiative under a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation. Contributions are processed through the sponsoring organization, providing administrative oversight, financial accountability, and compliance support.

Built 4 This does not directly hold or distribute charitable funds independently outside the framework of its fiscal sponsorship arrangement.

Current funding priorities

Contributions may support Recovery Care Kits, direct support initiatives, Built 4 This Connect platform development, advocacy and awareness, outreach, community partnerships, program development, infrastructure, compliance, and operational support.

Allocation priorities may adjust over time based on program growth, community needs, partnerships, and opportunities to expand impact.
